Beckham’s design swap
The sight of soccer legend David Beckham in the front row at wife Victoria’s New York runway shows is familiar but the tables have been turned at London Menswear Fashion Week.
In sleek leather pants, white heels and a camel jumper, Victoria joined the London crowds to see husband David’s latest offering for British heritage brand Kent & Curwen.

The impeccably dressed David joined the label in 2015 as an ambassador and creative contributor, bringing in designer Daniel Kearns in 2016. Daniel worked previously at Facconable, Zegna, Louis Vuitton and Alexander McQueen.
The collection was heavily influenced by British private schools with striped blazers, wide legged flannel pants and cricket whites. Daniel says that h was inspired by athletes competing in the 1948 London Olympics.

Victoria’s support and experience will come in handy with Kent & Curwen opening a youth-oriented concept store in London’s Covent Garden in September. The brand has more than 100 stores in Asia but is focussing on acquiring contemporary credentials.
"Kent & Curwen has such an amazing history and heritage, but what we’re trying to do with Daniel and the team is take it to a different level and improve certain aspects of the business," David told the South China Morning Post in May. "We’re keeping the traditions alive but adding a new, modern part."
The Beckham children have been sending their father a strong message that he’s on the right track with the outfit updates.
"My Kent & Curwen outfits often get stolen at home,' Beckham said. "Brooklyn will take my stuff and wear it almost every day, and now even Harper, who’s only seven, is at it, she takes a T-shirt and wears it as a nightdress, which is kind of cute."
