Beauty looks to match your drink order

Eliza Cracknell

Venturing out, especially for Mardi Gras, often involves an internal dialogue that debates 'how to look' and 'what to drink'.

In a bid to make life a little easier, we've found some of the most daring looks from the autumn/winter 2016 runways and paired them with your tipple of choice.

All you need to do is grab a straw.

For the blanc de blanc lover

The look
"They look like a little wing… evil wings," make-up artist Tom Pechaux said backstage of the literal winged eye at Anthony Vaccarello. "Angel or devil — you choose."

Whether you want to be good or bad, the look was created by sticking fake diamond earrings onto the outer corner of the models' peepers. Eyes were then framed with thick black eyeliner.

The drink
With its glistening bubbles and sense of occasion, a bottle of Arras' world-class Tasmanian Blanc de Blanc is a natural fit. Let the celebrations begin.

For the red wine lover

The look
If your Saturday night often ends with wine stained lips, why delay the inevitable? Take your cue from the Antonio Marras A/W16 runway by smudging your pout with moody reds, plums and oxblood (after all, no-one with two drinks under their belt cares about precision).

Once you've picked your colours, apply the lightest shade to the entire lip and within the first 30 seconds add a second, darker shade to the centre. Blend outwards to achieve a graduation of colour. For longevity, opt for a matte finish.
