The Australian label of our organic cotton dreams, Bassike, has announced it will expand into the US with the opening of a Los Angeles store set for September. It will be the first international bricks-and-mortar store for the brand, which was founded by Deborah Sams and Mary Lou Ryan in 2006.

The designers say the store's Venice location (around the corner from Abbot Kinney Boulevard, once named the coolest block in America by GQ) has 'synergies' with Bassike's birthplace, the northern beaches of Sydney. They also list the "great blend of surf, skate, art, fashion, food and wellbeing" offered by the LA neighbourhood as a drawcard.

Now Australian label Zimmermann is about to add two more stores to its existing three within the US, Dion Lee is a fixture at New York Fashion Week and Kym Ellery has revealed she'll be relocating to Los Angeles at the end of this year, it seems like an Aussie takeover is imminent.
