"We have had to put down three dogs in the last year and this one has made me reflect."

She especially felt for her husband, who had nurtured Blue from a traumatised shelter dog into a loving art of their family.

"The relationship he had with Blue was so special. They were quite the duo. Traveling the country as a team… job to job then driving home to California where we all settled as a family together!"

When they welcomed their daughter Matilda in March 2023, the actress said Blue "turned to mush like the rest of us".

"He was so gentle with her and kind. She was obsessed with his one squeaky toy, always stealing it from him. He would patiently wait till she dropped it then scoop it back up for himself and quietly walk away," Cuoco recalled fondly.

"He was the quiet mascot of our home but Tom was and will always be his one and only. They saved each other."

"Blue, it was an honor to be your second favorite human down here on earth," she concluded.

Pelphrey also paid tribute to his dog of six years, describing the long journey of rehabilitating him.

"I had to say goodbye to my guy," he said of the former rescue dog who had been returned at least six times for being "too aggressive".

The Ozark actor described taking a lot of time and energy to give Blue love before he began to turn around and become "the most beautiful dog I've ever seen."

He even began to drive from job to job just so he could stay with Blue all the time, eventually joining Cuoco and her family of little dogs.

"He was by my side the entire time (literally)… protecting me and guiding me into a new, fuller life. I guess that's what Shepards do. I held him at the end," the actor shared.
