'I don't even recognise her': Owner's shock as dog returns from the groomer

A dog owner was left baffled when he saw how his pet emerged from a grooming appointment.

The unexpected transformation of Connor BainBridge's dog, before and after a the appointment, now has Tiktok users in stitches, with the video amassing over 626,000 views.

The video opens with a "before" segment, in which Connor's pup flaunts thick, curly fur that seems to suit her personality well. Her owner describes her as "just cute" before her trip to the groomer.

According to one commenter, the adorable puff of untamed fur was "looking fabulous and perfectly fine in the before, all the lass needed was a little trim around the eyes".

However, the golden part comes in the "after" part of the video. The grooming process somehow changed her into an entirely different dog.

With her fur resembling a '70s shag haircut, the poor pup exudes an air of distaste.

In an electrifying twist, the dog's post-grooming fluffiness makes her look considerably different, with her curls flattened and standing straight up.

"She looks like a different dog… I don't even recognise her… she looks like she's been electrocuted," Connor says in the voiceover.

Connors' video drew laughter and attention from hundreds of thousands of viewers, with 800 people adding their thoughts to the comment section.

The comments only add another layer of humour with some hysterical comparisons.

The adorable puppy was referred to as Gail Platt from UK soap Coronation Street, which Connor addressed in a separate video

"Gail Platt" he laughs, adding, "I actually apologise because she's getting compared to a dog… I can't believe my dog has been compared to Gail Platt."

His dog was also compared to Boris Johnson, which he agreed with: "Oh yeah, I can see it."

Thankfully, Cockapoo owners have reassured him that she will return to normal soon.

"She has been fluff dried, essentially removing any tats… curls will be back in a day," one commenter wrote.

Another noted, "The blow dryer along with the brushing makes the coat straighten out. Only straight for a few days."
