Hidden spy camera, which records what this cat gets up to at home, is discovered by that very same cat mid-shenanigan

It's often said that curiosity kills the cat, but one inquisitive kitten has simply left the Internet in stitches after footage of it prowling around at home was shared.

Shared to the Reddit community r/Aww by the pet owner, who posted the find under the username u/gigglebush88, footage showed a housebound kitten uncovering the owner's spy camera.

"Looks like my cat Beans found the pet cam I set up to spy on him from work," the footage was captioned.

In the video — which has received over 20,000 upvotes on the forum — Beans can be seen spotting the camera and then curiously pawing at it. Watch the video above.

Because the camera has motion sensors, it moved along with the cat, but this confused them further, causing Beans to tap at the equipment.

Eventually, Beans evidently gets bored of the camera, and walks away.

Reddit users were largely amused by Bean's investigation.

"Do not underestimate the intelligence of a bored, adventure-seeking cat…" one Redditor wrote.

"He looks like a streamer trying to adjust his camera," another user joked.

Another user joked about what Beans was thinking during their expedition, writing, "Hello? Is this thing on?"

One user, however, couldn't get enough of the footage and asked the pet owner if there was a microphone or speaker system in the camera that they could use to talk to Beans throughout the day.

"I don't suppose it's one where you can talk to him on a speaker? Wonder what his reaction would be!" the user wrote.

The pet owner revealed that the camera does have that function, but they have yet to try it out personally.

"My dog hates it when I do that," another user jumped in to add. "She gets very confused. She can recognise my voice and starts looking for me."
