Glorious cat maternity photoshoot goes viral

A cat maternity photoshoot is going viral. Which makes sense – it’s a double whammy of two of the internet’s most beloved things to look at:

Beautiful and intimate celebrations of new life and the miracle of motherhood.

And, er, cats.

Lucy Schultz, a popular wedding photographer from Colorado in the US, posted her shoot on Facebook on January 14. To date, the post has more than 27,000 likes and has been shared almost 25,000 times.

“On 1/10/18 we welcome our first baby kitten, a neutered male DLH,” it reads, alongside 32 photos of Lucy, her partner Steven and their new offspring, a ginger rescue kitten.

“He is 22" long and weighed 6 pounds 7 oz. He is already eating solid food. Name to be announced. We are so in love.”

The magical arrival was captured by Schultz’s friend Elizabeth Woods-Darby, a photographer and filmmaker also from Colorado. Captured in graphic detail, in fact. (We haven’t included all the photos here but you can see them on the original post.)

And it's just so, so good. Even if you're a dog person.

And now the happy family is three: loving mum Lucy holds baby cat, while Steven begins to come to grips with cat fatherhood.
