Adorable boy calls police emergency number to talk to officer about his toys

New Zealand Police have shared an adorable snippet of a emergency call they received from a little boy who simply wanted to show off his awesome toy collection.

While the call was made by mistake, the little boy's wish came true after he was paid a visit by an officer with whom he excitedly shared his toys with.

The officer confirmed that the four-year-old did indeed have some pretty 'cool toys'.

Posted to their YouTube page, New Zealand Police shared the minute long phone call that the boy had made from his parents phone.

The emergency call was answered by a dispatcher who asked the child "What's going on?".

"I've got some toys for you. Come over and see them", the boy said to the woman on the line.

At that point the boy's father entered the conversation, realising what had happened.

He confirmed that there was no emergency situation in the home, but rather his son had grabbed the phone while his dad was attending to his other sibling.

As a precaution, the female dispatcher sent an officer over to the house to check that everything was okay.

Constable Kurt from Southern District Police attended the home and was treated to exactly what the four-year-old promised.

He was shown an array of toys at the boy's house and confirmed, "He did have cool toys!".

While there the officer gave the lucky boy a sneak peak of his patrol car and even put the lights on for him.

The two posed for a photo together on the bonnet of the patrol car, with the toddler looking ecstatic wearing the officers hat.

New Zealand Police said that while they don't encourage children to unnecessarily call their emergency line 111, "this was too cute not to share".

The officer said that he had a good educational chat with the child and his parents about only using the emergency line for real emergencies while he was at the home.

The video has since been viewed over 100,000 times and users have taken to the post to comment on the great job police did to check on the boy, and take the time to put a smile on his face.

"Very glad they checked properly and how lovely for the little boy that they were so kind", one person posted.

Another commented, "I'm tearing up (sniff sniff), that's so precious."
