Teachers have seen it all when it comes to student names.

From having five children with the same name, to having some truly wild and wonderful names they've had to call out.

But one Doctor Who-inspired name has left a teacher genuinely speechless, unsure how to tackle the multi-syllable pearler.

Unable to keep such a unique name to themselves, the substitute teacher took to Facebook to post about their experience.

"I had to take attendance in a high school class recently and ran into this gem: Romanadvoratrelundar," they shared.

"I got three syllables in before she very sweetly told me to just call her 'Romy."

What's worse is that the character this is based on doesn't even go by their full name on the show, and is instead known by the perfectly lovely Romana.

In the series, the Doctor tells Romanadvoratrelundar her name is too long, and must be shortened. When he suggests Romana, she only agrees when he tells her it's either that, or Fred.

The character was a Time Lord from the long-running British television series, however last appeared in 1983.

Many on Facebook felt for the student.

"Imagine how embarrassed she must be every time she has to explain," said one person.

"I also would like to add, that in the show Romana hates her full name so it's even worse! People do this a lot with fandom names," said another.

"As a Who fan, I am disgusted by this. Romana by itself it cute, but doing the whole thing is egregious. She's definitely gonna change her name. People need to remember that they are naming adults who will have bosses one day that will be able to see their full legal name," added a third.

"I love Doctor Who, but I couldn't imagine doing that to a kid," sympthasised another.
