Ryan Reynolds hopes his fourth child is also a girl: 'Ultimate girl dad'

After previously welcoming three daughters, Ryan Reynolds has shared that he hopes his fourth child is also a girl.

Reynolds revealed the couple "never find out" their child's gender before the birth in a candid chat on Monday's The Today Show.

The star added, "I know girls, so I'm kind of hoping that, but I'm ready for whatever."

Reynolds spoke about fatherhood alongside his Spirited co-stars Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer whilst also discussing the film's upcoming release.

"We don't know the sex of the baby and we never find out 'til they're born," the actor explained.

Admitting he is the "ultimate girl dad", Reynolds conversely joked about his own upbringing as the youngest of four sons, joking his siblings "were just arsonists and firemen."

The 46-year-old actor also shares seven-year-old James, six-year-old Inez and three-year-old Betty with wife Blake Lively, 35. The three girls' names famously appeared in Taylor Swift's song 'Betty', on her critically acclaimed album, Folklore.

Swift has also borrowed James' sweet vocals for the introduction of her song 'Gorgeous' off another one of her critically acclaimed albums, Reputation.

Because of the pop star's closeness to Reynolds and Lively, fans have now suspected that with the release of her newest album, Midnights, Swift may have revealed the couple's baby name.

Whilst the theory remains unconfirmed, Swifties on Twitter believe they have decoded an Easter egg that the Deadpool actor and his wife plan to call their baby-to-be Daisy May.

Lively recently uploaded a series of pictures showing off her growing baby bump at a star-studded pool day. In the series of pictures, Lively was snapped cozying up with Reynolds and giving Swift a big hug.
