7-year-old draws heartbreaking picture after witnessing fatal crash

After being involved in a crash that killed two people, 7-year-old Ollie sent firefighters a hand drawn picture to thank them for their help.

According to the Trowbridge Fire Station's Twitter feed, Ollie and his dad were riding a truck that collided with a Ford Mondeo on October 28, 2018.

While the boy and his father were rescued by emergency services, the two men in the other vehicle, Marek Adamiak, 42, and Radek De, 28, passed away. 

Following the accident, Ollie sent the Trowbridge Fire Station a hand drawn picture. "Thanks for helping me and my daddy," the accompanying message read.

In the picture, the car is shown flipped over and on fire. Next to it, a firetruck and a firefighter are putting out the flames, and an arrow points to these and says 'you'.

After posting a picture of the drawing to their Twitter earlier last month, the fire station wrote, "I've just received this picture from a very brave 7-year-old. No 7-year-old should have to see what this tot saw."

The boy was invited to the Trowbridge fire station a few days ago to catch up with the workers who assisted him in the tragedy. They shared the visit on their Twitter and said they "just wanted to check the little man was OK." 

In the photos, Ollie looks excited to be chatting with staff. Many Twitter users jumped on to say how happy they were to see this story on their feed. "This is why I love being part of the emergency services family," one wrote.
