Mum 'traumatised' after finding ticks in toddler's ear from gardening outside
One mum has shared the horrifying discovery she made in her toddler's ear after a peaceful afternoon of gardening.
Jessica DeLoach, a mum from Arkansas in the United States, shared she made the discovery when she went to wash her daughter's ears during bath time, saying that it looked like she had shoved something in there. When she called the doctor, they told her to come in immediately, causing DeLoach to panic.
When at the medical centre, the toddler, named Averie, would act unsettled every time the doctor tried to look in her ear.

"I had no idea what to expect and was so scared for our baby girl," said the mum in a TikTok video, which has now been viewed more than 2.1 million times.
After holding her down for the doctor to check her ears, the mum was in shock when the doctor ended up pulling out two ticks
She said the removal process was "traumatising" for both her daughter and herself, considering that one of the ticks was "deep inside her ear."
DeLoach said: "When it first crawled in and latched on I would not have been able to see it. It is so terrifying!"
Though her ear was a little bruised for the next three days, Averie is now doing OK, even being rewarded with a lollipop after the ordeal.

Other mums in the video's comments reacted similarly.
"Welp I'm gunna go check my kids' ears now," one wrote,
"Cool. New fear unlocked. Myself and my children will be wearing earmuffs for the foreseeable future," another said.
"Goodness!!! We can't do nothing in this damn world! I'm glad she's OK now!" one exclaimed.
"This [happened] to my daughter, she was hospitalised for [two] weeks for rocky mountain spotted fever," one commenter warned.
"This is why it's important to have bath time every night with little ones," one commenter stressed.
