One mum has stunned fellow parents by creating a 'golden' themed lunchbox to make her son's birthday extra special.

US mum Tiffany Keene regularly posts cooking content to her Instagram, including what she puts in her son Cruz's lunchbox. On his golden birthday - where someone's age is the same as the day of the month they were born - his mum decided to make his school lunch extra special.

In an Instagram video, Tiffany says that she took extra care of this lunch, even taking the time to paint his sparkling water can gold. She then made a wrap for him with his favourite food, shrimp and lobster. She added finishing touches including some macarons, a golden wrap for his sandwich, golden utensils, a golden 'Happy Birthday' napkin and even a sweet handwritten note.

"He's gonna be so excited today when he opens his lunch and sees that even his sandwich is wrapped in gold!" said the mum.

Tiffany's husband, Nathan, also shared her efforts in a popular Facebook group.

"I wanted to show you guys the 24K gold lunch my wife made for our son's golden birthday. She made him a shrimp and lobster wrap and made sure to include gold everything. She even painted his sparkling water gold," he shared.

Many congratulated the boy on reaching his milestone, but some were concerned about the fact that the mum had painted the sparkling water can with potentially toxic paint.

"Hope she didn't use spray paint," said one commenter. "I think that's why the straw is included," answered another.
