Mum accidentally sends son to school with 'worst packed lunch ever'

A mother has been left cringing after accidentally sending her child to school with what she deemed "the worst packed lunch ever."

The embarrassed mum took to the well-known Mumsnet forum to reveal that she sent her son to school with a lunchbox full of bird food.

In the hilarious post she wrote, "I told DS [dear son] he had pasta salad for lunch." She continued, "This evening he asked why we'd given him 'funny mashed potato' instead."

"Turns out the pasta salad was still in the fridge and he'd been eating a tub full of fat I'd saved for the birds.

"Has anyone sent their child to school with anything worse or are we officially the worst parents on Mumsnet?" She joked.

The post quickly garnered plenty of attention from other mums who found the story hilarious.

"No, but this made me laugh out loud after a busy day! How much of it did he eat?!," commented one.

"Crying with laughter here - you definitely win the award for the worst packed lunch ever," said another.

Another chose a more supportive stance writing: "You're not bad parents at all, it was a mistake. Now, had you intentionally sent him to school with fat ball mix, that would be a different story."

Other users shared similar personal stories with one user writing: "I had a bit of a rep for sending my kids to school with sandwiches made from mouldy bread."

She continued, "In my defence, I did try to pick all the bits of mould off before I made the sandwiches. Obviously missed a few. Happened more than once"
