Reality star Lauren Goodger's heartbreaking farewell to baby daughter

UK reality star Lauren Goodger has shared the heartbreaking moments following the loss of her daughter Lorena just after she was born.

The The Only Way is Essex star gave birth on July 8 after she was rushed to the hospital when her midwife couldn't detect a heartbeat, according to The Mirror. Lorena was delivered after a two-hour labour, but the room soon filled with doctors who began chest compressions and administered adrenaline. But despite their best efforts, they couldn't keep baby Lorena alive.

Lauren, who is also mum to one-year-old Larose, explained that the umbilical cord "had two big knots in it and it was around her neck."

"I couldn't get my head around it because eight, nine hours earlier, she had a heartbeat, I heard it," she said.

Lauren and her partner Charles Dury are requesting a post-mortem examination to pinpoint the exact cause of death.

"I need to understand medically how she died for my own sanity," the mum told The Sun.

Shortly after Lorena's death, baby loss charity Petals helped the couple honour their daughter after her passing.

"Lorena stayed with me the whole time. I bathed her and put her in a white baby grow which belonged to Larose. It was beautiful," the mum shared with The Sun.

"I held her and kissed her. I sang to her and we played songs. She just looked like she was asleep."

Lauren praised the efforts that Petals went to to preserve the memory of her little girl.

"I stayed awake all night with her and the charity came the next day. They had her feet and hand prints done and then did casts.

"I have some locks of her hair and they gave us a candle for her.

"A photographer was organised too and they took some beautiful pictures. My friends put two into a locket which I wear around my neck."

The couple are in the process of organising a funeral for Lorena.

"I never thought I would be at this stage in my life where I am planning a funeral for my daughter.

"Each day I take it as it comes. Without Larose I would not be here. She is getting me through every day.
