Katie Holmes and daughter Suri hit the salon

Actress Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri, 10, have spent a girls' day at the hair salon and the pictures of the two of them post styling session will warm you to your cockles.

Katie, and her mini-me little girl, had their hair done and then Katie shared a sweet snap of the two.

In the picture, which Katie posted to Instagram, Suri can be seen preening in the front of the mirror while adjusting an over-sized bow perched on the side of her pretty little head. The adorable little girl, Katie's only child with ex-husband Tom Cruise, is wearing a sleeveless sundress with a detailed pattern.

In the background of the shot you can see proud mama Katie and salon stylist DJ Quintero - who, judging by the way Katie is snuggling in close with him - is a close pal.

The look on Katie's face is something all mothers (and dads too) will relate too. It's a mixture of joy, delight, pride and overwhelming love and it absolutely melts our hearts.
