Kate Middleton made this parenting mistake – and every mum can relate

She may be the Duchess of Cambridge with all the help her royal title affords her, but Kate Middleton is still a mum – a mum who still makes regular mum mistakes.

According to a source who spoke to HELLO magazine, Kate took Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, three, on a trip to London department store Peter Jones in order to pick up some new school shoes.

However, once she was there, she realised she didn't bring socks for the kids to try shoes on with.

It's currently the end of summer in London, so the two kids were wearing sandals without any socks.

The 36-year-old mum reportedly had to ask to borrow socks so her young family could commence trying on shoes.

It's okay, Kate. It's happened to the best of us. Especially now she has three kids to take care of, we’re not surprised even a royal mum lets a few things slip under the radar.

As Alissa Warren wrote in April, just before Louis was born, "I also had three under five. It throws the whole family into a wonderful spin and there’s no escape from it. Not even Buckingham Palace can save you."

Prince George headed back to school at Thomas's Battersea to start Year One yesterday. Princess Charlotte will be attending Willcocks Nursery School.

The Duchess is reportedly very hands-on during the school season, ensuring she drops both George and Charlotte off at the school gate.

But hopefully, now school's back in session and the days are a little more freed up, Kate will a little more breathing space. Hopefully.
