Mum-of-three Jessica Simpson has opened up about a terrifying experience during her third pregnancy when she was hospitalised with severe bronchitis.

The pop star recalled the moment she and her mother Tina asked doctors to "just take her out" when her daughter Birdie's oxygen levels were dropping. The harrowing experience happened when Simpson was 34 weeks pregnant in 2019.

Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson are parents to daughter Maxwell, nine, son Ace, eight, and Birdie their youngest daughter who will turn three in March.

The mum recalled what happened in the hospital room during an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek.

"Her oxygen levels were dropping. I couldn't breathe," Simpson explained after revealing it was her forth round of bronchitis while pregnant with her youngest.

The mum revealing Birdie was a very big baby. "I was 260 pounds. We were like, 'Just take her out'," she said.

Simpson said she had to be put on a breathing machine while laying in the hospital bed during her third trimester, still weeks away from her due date.

Thankfully doctors were able to stabilise Birdie that day and Simpson welcomed her third daughter into the world in March 2019 via c-section.
