It seems that no one is immune from the struggle of daylight savings with a small human, not even New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. Sharing a picture to Instagram, the leader highlighted the reality of being a working parent.

"Ahhh daylight savings. Poor Clarke was up multiple times with our small person, so when they both were finally getting some sleep at 6am and I realised retrieving my shoes would wake them, there was only one option. Gumboots to work," she wrote in a caption alongside a photo of her muddy gumboots.

Ardern, who is mum to three-year-old Neve, also revealed her appreciation for fiancé Clarke Gayford, who was apparently on night duties with their toddler.

Fans could definitely relate to her struggles of being a working parent.

"Lol! #mumliferealities You're the best Jacinda Ardern the toughest job in the world and you are doing amazing!" one commenter encouraged.

"Love it. You are human and compassionate. Parenting/partner skills test passed," commented another.

"You're so human! I can't think of the times I've dressed in the dark to find myself at work wearing odd shoes. But at least I never had to stand up and do media sessions with national media," added another.

"I hate daylight saving changes so much. Even more so since I have kids. Please get rid of it," one mum pleaded.

This isn't the only wardrobe fail the PM has experienced at the hands of her daughter. The New Zealand leader also shared a candid picture of her outfit mishap with a funny caption in the past.

"Why is it only when you are the furthest you could possibly be from a change of clothes before you notice that you have nappy cream on you?" Ardern wrote in an Instagram post, alongside a photo of the offending white smudge. "I'll spare everyone the details."

Ardern has always been very open and honest about her parenthood journey since welcoming Neve in 2018.
