School holidays are awesome. Just ask the kids. But every now and again even the most easy-going children will say the words no parent or caregiver wants to hear - 'I'm bored'.
When that happens it's time to rev into action - and fast. Here, our top three ideas for keeping holiday boredom at bay.
Redecorate
Set aside a day to de-clutter and re-decorate the kids' bedrooms. Once you've decided what they want to part with list items on selling sites such as Gumtree. You'll be amazed at that people will buy and once they do, you'll have some money to buy items the kids actually want.
The very keen might like to invite the Easter Bunny round. Baby Luna certainly likes him although mama Chrissy Teigen and dad John Legend look pretty well chuffed with their new furry friend too. Image: Instagram/@chrissyteigen
Set Up Camp
Build a campsite in the backyard. Inexpensive tents can be purchased at stores such as K-Mart and Target or again, you can head online and snap one up at a bargain price. Don't forget blow up mattresses and also a camping chair or two. The super keen can string up a white sheet and track down a projector to screen child-friendly movies under the stars.
Get Baking
Invite your children’s closet friends over and host a cookie class. Give each friend a pair of oven mitts, a chef hat and an apron and the kids will be excited to design and bake their own personal masterpieces. Be sure to provide them with a range of cookie cutters and also plenty of icing options to ensure inner artists come out to play.
