Bec Judd looks ravishing in a fitted white corset gown and wide-brimmed hat but in the short time since she arrived at Derby Day, she missed a staggering 13 calls from her kids.

"Since I've been here I've just had all these missed calls from Darcy, Billie, Darcy again," she reveals to 9honey Parenting at the Crown marquee, flashing a phone full of text and call notifications.

There's no family emergency though – that's just life for the busy mum of four.

Bec shares Oscar, 13, daughter Billie, 10, and twins Darcy and Tom, eight, with former AFL star husband Chris Judd and admits it's a huge effort to juggle parenting, her business, Jaggad, and events like this.

Though she makes it look effortless, Bec confesses the reality is anything but.

"It is a juggle and it comes at a little bit of a personal cost to your sanity at times, because you're always on," she says.

"I was up at 5.30am, started hair at 6am, then makeup and at the same time I've got my kids FaceTiming me asking for things, I got my husband doing a Baker's Delight run to make sure that my son's got snacks in his bag for his cricket game this afternoon ... it never ends!"

Though luxe events like Derby Day tend to offer Bec a bit of a break from the madness of wrangling four kids at home, the notifications that keep popping up on her phone prove that even celebrity mums can't truly escape the parenting grind.

The businesswoman reveals she gets most of her work done between the hours of 8pm and 11pm because that's when the kids are asleep, so she can actually be productive.

It's a personal sacrifice she's willing to make because it means she can focus on being present with her four kids as much as possible.

"I want to be present. I want to be coaching the netball team. I want to be helping out as a coordinator and cricket. I want to do all the mum things," she beams.

"And then the work things. And if it means that I'm going to bed at 11, or I'm sending emails at 10.59pm, that's OK. That's just how we make it work."

As well as being a busy mum, Bec is also widely recognised as a fashion icon.

These days she's known for her classic, glamorous styling but back in the 2000s and 2010s she rocked a few looks she admits she probably wouldn't choose today.

That said, Bec doesn't regret any of her past wardrobe choices.

"I feel like every outfit is like a little bit of a journey and a nostalgic memory of that time and place and event, whether I love the outfit or not," she laughs.

"There's some that I look back on and go, 'that was a very 2008 dress', or 'that was very 2012 styling', but there's definitely no regrets. The memories are nice."
