Carrie Bickmore has opened up about her struggles since becoming a mother of three.

The Project host welcomed her daughter, named Adelaide, in December last year with her partner Chris Walker.

However, in a recent piece she wrote for Stellar, the 38-year-old has admitted she is "really struggling".

Bickmore, who is already mum to Ollie, 11, and three-year-old Evie, explained her "third stint at motherhood" has been "one of the most challenging periods of my life", compared to when she had her first two children.

So much so, the mum-of-three has texted her partner about her worries about "getting postnatal depression".

Recalling a text she sent to Walker, her partner of five years, while he was away, the presenter admitted that while she thought she would be fine on her own, it was far from the case, especially in the early hours of the morning.

"I can’t do this on my own tonight, I’m worried I may be getting postnatal depression," she said she wrote in a text message.

"He calls and my anxiety immediately drops.

"By sunrise, I’m much calmer. (Why are the nights so much lonelier?)"

Bickmore is currently still on maternity leave from her hosting duties on The Project, but returned to her radio show she co-hosts with Tommy Little back in February.
