'I see your Chlamydia's out': Mums' hilarious word mix-ups

Twitter has been taken over by the hilarious faux pas of mums in desperate need of a modern vocab makeover.

After professional British voice over artist, Cromerty York took to her Twitter page to share the muddled musings of her mum, the comments section soon exploded with other entertaining examples of when mothers got the lingo terribly wrong.

York shared the gut-busting moment her mother confused the word 'glamping' (posh camping) with the word 'dogging' (a sexual act carried out in public).

"Mum: 'So you know Leslie-down-the-road, the one with the new kitchen? Well you never guess what she told me she does yesterday? She goes GLAMPING!' Me: 'um. What do you think it means?' Mum: *shocked whisper* 'it’s the one with the car parks' Me: 'NO IT BLOODY WELL ISN’T'," the tweet by York read.

People everywhere joined in on the post, sharing other side-splitting remarks made by their jumbled mums:
