Is emotional cheating a real thing?

Urgh!  Cheating is the lowest of all acts.  Everyone loses. 

But what if we dial it back a bit.  What if the cheating is all in the head and not physical?

Imagine you find out your husband has long lunches with a female colleague when he pours his heart out and discusses problems within your marriage and his dreams for the future.  But she’s not a friendly shoulder to cry on, she’s seeing herself as wife number two.

What if your partner is sexting another woman?

Here’s the thing.  In neither of these scenarios has the affair become physical.  So, is that cheating?

I’m embarrassed that I use MAFS as an example BUT stay with me… Sam and Ines plus Jess and Dan had affairs.  We all saw that.  However, in the MAFS season before, Dean and Davina wanted to hook up but they didn’t bump uglies, they didn’t even kiss, so was that an affair?

To me sharing secrets and dreams is just as bad as sharing bodily fluids.

But I hear from my (mostly male) mates that if there was no touch - then no foul.
