Knight said she had convinced herself the "debilitating health issues" she was experiencing daily were her "fault".

"I told myself I would feel better if I ate more salads, had a better work-life balance or spent less time on my computer," she wrote.

After finally reaching out for medical help the star discovered she has microcytic anemia, a "stubborn type of blood disorder".

"I'm feeling awful constantly. I have fatigue like I couldn't even describe to you. I'm sleeping like 16 hours a day," she explained in a video update on Instagram.

"If I'm not on E! News in a fancy dress, I am in bed."

Being a career woman who suffers health issues, Knight said she was convinced her ill health was simply a part of the life she had chosen.

"I believed that working hard meant feeling like garbage all the time," she wrote.

"I thought I was making the choice to be a career woman and that if I wanted to feel good then I should've picked something easier."
