Football player with Down Syndrome scores incredible touchdown

A football player scored a touchdown so incredible that it made the crowd go wild - not an unusual story, until you discover that the boy was just 18 years old, was playing high school football in the USA, and has Down Syndrome. 

Jake Pratt is as dedicated to his team as you can get - he attends every practise and is also the manager. Recently, he was called up to play in his first ever match in front of a huge crowd, and scored an incredible touchdown. Pratt was so happy that he even performed a celebratory dance for his cheering fans!

“He was so happy,” Kathy Pratt, Jake’s mother told AL.com. “Jake will remember this all of his life. It will be a life-changing experience.”

His sister also posted on Facebook about the celebration, writing: 

“Most of you know that my brother, Jake, is a senior at Vestavia Hills High School. He is 18 years old, on the football team, and the typical teenage boy in almost every way, except for the fact that he was blessed with an extra chromosome.

Pratt's teammate Coleman Petway told AL.com. “We all love Jake and are so happy for him that he got to score in a high school game. We sometimes take for granted the opportunities we get to play on Friday nights and to get to see Jake play alongside us was really special.”
