Dog groomer's morbid autocorrect fail sends social media into stitches
A dog groomer has made a morbid blunder, with their very blunt text about a client's freshly-primped pooch leaving them reeling.
Sharing a screenshot of the text exchange to Reddit, a fellow employee at the grooming salon revealed the autocorrect accident that nearly sent the pet owner into a spin.
The employee called the texts a "startlingly matter of fact message from the groomer."

The dog in question — a beagle named Dexter — had been dropped off at the parlour to be groomed.
The pet specialist then alerted the owner to the appointment's completion with the simple message: "Hi Dexter is dead."

Immediately realising their mistake, they quickly clarified, "Hi Dexter is ready now!! Sorry stupid auto correct."
The groomer then shared a photo of the freshly-sheared dog to prove he was very much alive and sporting a new look.

While the text exchange didn't reveal the owner's reaction, Reddit users naturally concocted a hilariously dark and morbid back story.
"That three-minute taxidermy job has to be some kind of record," claimed one commenter about the mishap.

"Weekend at Beagles," replied another, referencing the 1989 Ted Kotcheff comedy Weekend at Bernie's in which two workers pretend their deceased employer is still alive.

"I'm in stitches. Something about the blunt message, and the picture proving that the dog is not in fact dead has set me off. Brilliant," commented another.
A third shared, "just needed [the dog groomer] to hold up today's paper in the shot."
