In a divorce – do you have to take sides?

I say yes! I got divorced more than a decade ago. We divided the property, the debt AND the friends. That’s how it works, right? Clean and simple.

Well it was simple for us. But throw kids into the mix and it may not be so easy.

Then there’s that messy area where you are friends with the wife and your husband is friends with the bloke. Do you only socialise separately? Whose friendship rules? What if the long-term friendship is not as strong as the recent friendship?

God, it now seems so bloody difficult.

Soon you’ll find your friendship is being treated like a property dispute and no one is happy.
