A customer in the US decided to leave a 'reverse tip' after they were left unsatisfied with their service
It seems a customer at a US restaurant wasn't happy with the service and made this known by reverse-engineering the tradition of tipping.
Over in the states, leaving a tip is expected. Usually, it's best to leave a tip of 20 per cent on top of your bill.
But this customer decided to buck the system, instead deciding to leave a 'reverse tip'.

"My coworker's shift ended so I took over one of their tables," wrote a Reddit user alongside an image of the receipt. "Customer did not like this and left a negative tip."
The total of the bill was $69.50 US, and toward the bottom is the suggested tip amounts.
There are four suggested amounts, starting at 18 per cent which is a tip of $11.70 and a total bill of $81.54, and going up tp 25 per cent which is a tip of $16.25 and a total bill of $85.79.
This customer decided to ignore all suggestions and instead leave a tip of negative $3.50.
And no, you're not reading that wrong, the customer did indeed take it upon themselves to subtract $3.50 from their bill, about 5 per cent of the total cost.
They also left a note for their server explaining the reason behind their decision, although it did have a few spelling errors.
"Servies want not good," the note began. "Watriss changed without notifying us."

They also made sure to make it clear that their new total would now be $66.04, writing it down not once, but twice on the receipt.
The comments section was rife with debate, with many agreeing with the customer that yes, the server should have notified the table if their shift was ending and they would be getting a new waitress.
However, it seems that everyone agreed that leaving a negative tip may have been a bit of an overreaction.
