'Curve' model trolled over her stretch marks

Samantha Stewart

A model has hit back at internet trolls with a powerful post showcasing her stretch marks in a bid to inspire other women to embrace their bodies, regardless of the hate it generates.

Chelsea, who has 64,300 followers on Instagram, has been praised as an "inspiration" by other women for posting photos of her stretch marks, which pushed her to continue sharing similar snaps.

"People see influencers as being perfect, so they say seeing me with these flaws, and being able to embrace them, helped on their journey for self-love," she told Fabulous Digital.

Unfortunately, Chelsea's bravery has resulted in a few hurtful comments left by a handful of small-minded individuals.

"I have men commenting saying, 'ew' and women saying, ‘men don’t want to see this’, but I’m not doing it for men so it all goes over my head."

Chelsea explained that she isn't posting the photos for men, but that it's instead to "help women and mums and anyone who’s struggling."

In April, the model shared her first powerful body-positive post, claiming that she "would have never have posted this picture this time last year" because she was so caught up in her appearance.

"Today I received a troll in my DM's, and for the majority of my day I was dwelling on everything they was saying and doubting myself," she wrote.

"Then I received these pictures back from my agency.... I'm so proud of myself for how far I've come with appreciating my body."
