Couple wins 18 years' worth of hotel stays after falling pregnant at hotel on Valentine's Day

A Canadian couple have a free hotel stay every Valentine's Day until 2038 after they fell pregnant at a hotel chain holding a very (umm... bizarre?) competition.

Hotel Zed held a competition this year advertising a "spicy, four-hour Valentine's Day special rewarding bedroom-active couples."

The deal was that couples could check in from 10am til 2pm on V-Day, and if they fell pregnant they were in the draw to win the 18-year-long prize.

"Check-in from 10am until 2pm on February 14^th for some, ahem, quality time with your special someone," the competition read.

"Or, if an overnight is in the cards, take advantage of the Nooner overnight instead. After all, Valentine's day is on a Friday this year."

On Monday the hotel chain — which is based in British Columbia and has three locations — announced they had chosen their winners, the Beshinsky family.

Nicole and Alexander Beshinsky are pregnant with their second child following a mid-February rendezvous at Hotel Zed.

"We're absolutely thrilled for Nicole and Alex," Mandy Farmer, Hotel Zed's president and CEO, said in a statement.

"We created the Nooner to offer a Valentine's Day to remember and we have a feeling this will definitely be a Valentine's Day Nicole and Alex will never forget. We look forward to hosting them for the next 18 years!"

The hotel chain also provided a maternity shoot for the mum-to-be to celebrate the pregnancy, something Nicole was very grateful for.

"This photo shoot allowed my mum guilt to just melt away," Ms Beshinsky said in a statement.

"I feel like we're finally able to share and celebrate this pregnancy the way it deserves."

While it was a straight, married couple with a child already who won, the hotel was adamant that the competition was open to all.

"We welcome all of our guests to participate in the Nooner Baby Maker regardless of gender expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation," the hotel said on their competition flyer.

"At Hotel Zed, we think that all love is beautiful and that's what we're here to celebrate!"
