Cotton On's awkward printing fail: 'It's on all the tags'

Clothing store Cotton On has experienced an awkward printing mishap in stores – and it's certainly one to chuckle at.

After visiting the Cotton on Store in Westfield Miranda, Sydney, a shopper informed 9Honey they noticed a clear typo on the label on the franchise's Peter Rabbit line of garments, adding, "It's on all the tags."

Instead of giving basic information about the item, each clothing tag simply reads "lorem ipsum... ", which is the well-known placeholder text used in printing and publishing.

If the Latin phrasing sounds familiar to you, it's because this isn't the first time a high-profile "lorem ipsum" fail has happened.

In May last year, a particularly embarrassing mishap was spotted on a billboard for 7News on Parramatta Road in Sydney, displaying the text in a glowing sign.

Even more unfortunate is the fact the first three words the placeholder text always displays, "lorem ipsum dolor", translates to "the pain itself".

The rest of the copy is reportedly fake, nonsensical text.

The dreaded text has appeared in all kinds of unwanted places, especially newspapers and brochures.

One Twitter user revealed Indonesian newspaper Kompas fell victim to the mistake, accidentally printing the text on its front page.

"Kompas today, the deadline is close so it's still Lorem Ipsum," they captioned their tweet.
