Sticky Situations: Can straight men and women ever just be friends?
I have a sticky situation for you… Can straight men and women be friends, or is sex always on someone’s mind?

I have a male friend who says women and men can be friends but only after the guy has had a crack and been rejected. Otherwise, he’ll always be wondering.I’m a bit torn on this one. I don’t have many platonic male friends. I certainly am not friends with my ex-husband or my ex-boyfriends. I think once you’ve done the horizontal folk dance with a guy you can no longer be friends.
Most of my male friends are married to my girlfriends. I know it sounds silly, but once they’re married it puts them in a no-go-zone in my head, so it’s different. But then again I wouldn’t catch up with any of them without their wives there, so maybe it is the same thing?

I trust my husband 100%. He has a couple of straight female friends and I don’t get jealous of their friendships or worry it might lead to more. But that says more about my husband than anything else. He’s a cup full of awesome.

I have had a plenty of married men crack on to me in my single days. I’ve been friends with benefits with a couple of guys and boy that never worked out the way I planned. So yeah, I’m thinking sex does get in the way of a friendship. However, remember straight men cracking on to you is why god invented gays! My “best gay” Dave is the best friend a gal could hope for and sex will never be an issue.
