Bride wants her bridesmaids to wear coloured contacts

It’s wedding season and the bridezillas are out in force.

From brides who insist guests wear outrageous $1,000 outfits, then hold a lie detector test to find out who mocked them online, to those who expect donations exceeding $1,500 to fund their dream wedding.

But this bride has taken things to a whole new level by demanding her bridesmaids wear coloured contacts to hide their blue eyes.

Posting to Facebook without a hint of self-awareness, the bride shared her plan along with a photo of the bridesmaid dresses she was considering.

“How over the top is it to buy my blue-eyed bridesmaids colour contacts?” she began the post.

“I’m offering to let them select any other colour, even a rich amber brown like mine (I’M not afraid of being overshadowed!)”

But fear not, she had what she seemed to think was a totally reasonable reason to single out her blue-eyed bridesmaids.

“I just think blue eyes would clash, since one of the wedding colours is chartreuse,” she explained.

She also attached a photo of the dress she was considering, which unfortunately looked more like a yellow highlighter than a bridesmaid gown.

While we’re all for unique weddings, insisting that your bridesmaids hide the colour of their eyes so as not to clash with a garish yellow dress seems a little over the top.

People on Facebook agreed, many replying to the post with shock and incredulity.

“Probably the most bridezilla idea of all time,” one wrote.

Maybe she would have been better off choosing her bridesmaids based on their eye colour?

Another took aim at the chartreuse colour palette; “Honey, it’s not the eyes that clash with that dress. It’s that highlighter yellow dress that clashes with everything.”

Frankly we have to agree, and hope for the sake of the bridesmaids that this demanding bride reconsider her colour choices.
