Bride and groom request honeymoon money from friends who were not invited to wedding
A bride and groom have been slammed after someone shared a photo of a card they sent to people who weren't invited to their big day, apologising for not being able to have them there and simultaneously asking for cash for their honeymoon.
A recipient of the controversial card shared a picture of the card in Reddit's "Wedding Shaming" thread with the caption: "We sent you this card so send us money."

In the card, the couple apologised to the recipients for not being able to invite them, putting the blame on the size of the venue.
"We are sure to keep you in our hearts in this celebration of love," the card continues.
"If you would like to congratulate the bride and groom, rather than a registry, they are accepting money to aid in a beautiful honeymoon."
The forum was livid at the shameless request, and pretty well stood in agreeance it was tacky.

"This is so tacky. Why would I send them something if I'm not even invited?" wrote one Redditor.
"It is beyond tacky, it is just [plain] trashy. I would be so disgusted if I got a letter like this," added another.
"They had me in the first part...then it took a detour to tacky town," added a third.

Others were in sheer disbelief of the "arrogance" on display: "What is wrong with people? When did everyone get so self absorbed and presume that society lived to honour and bless their lives with such bounty?"
Others noticed a glaring shift in tense from first person in the first section of the card, to third person in the request for money.
"It's funny how it's 'we' above the line and 'they' below it. As if they aren't being trashy by asking for it themselves," wrote one commenter.
"Noticed as well. Cos the illusion of it being in the third person at the bottom makes it less trashy somehow," added another.
