Bride has first dance with 'mannequin husband' as groom misses reception
A US bride was forced to dance with a makeshift "mannequin husband" after her groom missed their wedding reception and their first dance.
All seemed to be going well for this bride and groom on their wedding day until it came time to let their hair down.
Leading up to the reception in North Carolina, the groom suddenly fell ill and had to be driven to hospital.

Luckily, instead of having to cancel the reception, the bride resorted to a hilarious alternative — a mannequin groom.
The brain's trust behind the invention was, in fact, the quick-thinking staff at the couple's chosen venue, The Victorian Youngsville.
Posting to their TikTok, the venue showed how they quickly turned a clothing steamer and iPad into a makeshift husband.
The video shows the bride hand-in-hand on the dance floor with the mannequin, which was dressed up in a full suit and tie.
In the video text, the venue wrote: "When the groom suddenly becomes sick and goes to the hospital on [the] wedding day."

The venue even went so far as to capture a suite of other memorable moments, including the couple cutting the cake and enjoying a proper boogie on the dance floor.
TikTokers were tickled by the unconventional video.
"'In sickness and in health' at its finest," one wrote.
"The bride had the best attitude!" another added.
A third wrote: "I love how they rolled with the punches and kept the joy."

Another noted: "Other brides would be so upset. You're a keeper!"
The video even received comments from the groom himself.
"Huge thank you to the Victoria. This was our third attempt at a 'Covid' wedding," he wrote.
"Due to other attempts and hospital regulations, and hopes for me returning to the ceremony, I wanted her to stay with her friends and family.
"We have happily been together for almost eight years, with many more to come."
