Bec Judd reveals daughter 'all of a sudden' obsessed with appearance

Bec Judd says her daughter has "all of a sudden" become obsessed with her looks, and — she's only three years old.

The TV personality and mother-of-four revealed her daughter Billie had started comparing herself to her glamorous mum, telling her “you look far more beautiful than me”, Judd said this morning on KIIS’ The 3PM Pick Up.

“She’s three and, all of a sudden, has started caring about her appearance so much and it’s actually scary,” Judd told co-host Katie ‘Monty’ Diamond.

“I don’t know where it’s come from because at home, I wear active wear pretty much, sneakers, chuck my hair up, barely put on any make up."

Judd, 34, said her toddler would stand, brushing her curly hair and then "scream at the mirror" when it sprung back up.

“I said ‘Billy, what are you doing? Just let it go babe, you’ve got curly hair’ and she goes ‘Mummy, I don’t like my hair, I want straight here like you.”

Judd also revealed another experience when the family was about to go out for dinner in Port Douglas last week.

“We were just about to walk out the door and she goes ‘Aw mum, I can’t go out for dinner, you look far more beautiful than me. She’s three!”

Judd said she was puzzled as to what had brought on her daughter’s new obsession with her appearance, adding she “hardly watches TV” and is “not on Instagram”.

It had also made her and husband Chris think they needed to put emphasis on the importance of “being a kind human, being strong and being smart”, she said.

So later, when they were playing Barbies — which, Judd points out, are all different body types — Billie grabbed a short doll, who she said was Barbie's husband. Judd went to tell Billie that Barbie wouldn’t marry that doll as he was “too short” but changed her mind.

Instead, telling her daughter, “She loves him so much because he’s so kind and he’s a surgeon – how smart is he?”

“She’s such a gorgeous little girl,” Judd said.

“I’ve had no idea where she’s picked this up from.

“Girls are tricky.”
