Ash Barty reveals new project after birth of her son

After shocking the world by quitting tennis at what many described as the peak of her career, Ash Barty has revealed a new project.

Teaming up with writer Jasmin McGaughey, illustrator Jade Goodwin and publisher HarperCollins, the 27-year old is planning on releasing her new book My Dream For You in March 2024.

The tale explores a mother's dream to spend time and create memories with her new baby.

Although this is not the star's first rodeo in the publishing world, it's her first new book project since the birth of her son, Hayden.

"I'm so excited for the release of this beautiful picture book," Barty said.

"It's a celebration of the possibilities that await new babies, a testament to the hope that every parent holds, and a reminder that our dreams can shape a brighter future for our children."

"I hope new parents and their little ones love reading it as much as our family does," she added.

Despite the new book appearing on the Harper Collins website, it's not due to become available for sale until March 2024.

Following her retirement from tennis in 2022, Barty released a series of children's books titled Little Ash which was received well by the public, with over 100,000 copies sold.

Among her growing author portfolio Barty also released My Dream Time, which scored the star an ABIA for Best Biography 2022.

The Aussie legend's new venture however is unique, with the new mum being able to connect to her experiences of motherhood for the new novel.

Barty's partner, golfer Garry Kissick, announced the news of Hayden's birth on July 4, 2023 with an adorable photo of the baby, alongside the caption, "Our beautiful boy. Welcome to the world, Hayden!"
