Wives and partners set for humiliation after adult website hack

Millions of personal details have been compromised after a sex hook-up website was targeted by hackers in one of the largest breaches of data ever.

The email address and passwords of 412 million members of meet-up site Adult Friend Finders have been stolen, with some account info dating back twenty years.

Adult Friend Finders — which has more than 40 million active members worldwide — describes itself as "one of the largest sex hook-up" websites around. Hackers also took browser details and some purchasing pattern information when they attacked the site's parent company, Friend Finders.

The breach happened last month and is believed to be the second biggest hack of personal information ever, coming second to Yahoo losing half a billion users' details earlier this year. But, it's the biggest in hook-up site history — last year's Ashley Madison attack pales in comparison with 37m accounts being compromised.

Internet monitoring site, Leaked Source told The Daily Telegraph that weak and outdated security was to blame. Passwords weren't encrypted by the site's parent company, they said, so hackers could see 99% of them without decoding.
