Woman, 31 who fell pregnant by 16-year-old boyfriend says he's a 'great father'

Jack Fucile, now 18 and Kathleen Martin met online, when they chatted via Facebook. Seven months later they announced that they were having a baby together. Their son, Jay, is now nine months old, and the couple say they are determined to show everyone that they will make great parents.

: “I was scared but I just overcame it and got on with it.”Advertisement

When Kathleen’s water’s broke early, Jack helped deliver the baby using instructions given by paramedics over the phone. Advertisement
“Jack just went into auto pilot as he listened to instructions from the hospital staff and he guided the baby out and into his arms,” she told The Sun.Advertisement

“It was literally all over in five minutes, and then the signal went on Jack’s mobile, cutting him off from the hospital.”When Jay was born, he looked blue.

“Jack quickly sprang into action. He wrapped towels around the baby and started rubbing his body,” Kathleen said.

“After a few minutes, he had turned a much more healthy pink colour and started to cry, which was such a relief.”

Kathleen is also mother to a 13 and five-year-old. Since their baby’s arrival, the couple have posted on Facebook to say that they are “one big family”.

Kathleen told the Sun: “Jack is really mature for his age. Despite the age difference, we got on really well.

“While other lads his age are hanging out with mates and drinking, Jack is here being a great father to baby Jay.”
