12-year-old girl murdered in her own home

She was only 12, but Yhoana Arteaga was already popular among her neighbours. None of them, however, seem to have heard or seen anything when the little girl was murdered in her own home in Nashville, Tennessee this week. She had just texted her mother that there was somebody at the door.

After having lunch with Yhoana, her mother went to work at the local drycleaning business for the afternoon. Along with other family members, she found Yhoana dead when she returned home that evening.

The murderer carried out a vicious attack on the child, said police. "This is a horrible, brutal thing,” Sgt. David Kautzman of the Nashville police said at a press conference. “I’ve never seen anything this brutal in my entire career.”
