This is what happened when a woman asked Twitter to shout her a drink

The Pussycat Dolls preaching the truth when they sang “be careful what you wish for”.

Because, as the saying goes, you just might get it.

And that’s what happened when a British woman parked herself at a table in a pub and asked people on Twitter to shout her a drink.

Perri Game and a mate were at cheap British pub chain, Wetherspoons, a pub that has an app which allows customers to order and pay for food and drinks instead of going up to the counter.

It was meant for people who are sitting at a table who don’t want to disrupt conversation/can’t be arsed to get up.

This app is open to rorting, meaning you can order a bevvy or some chippies though your phone without having to even be there.

Yep, we know what you’re thinking and we’re already campaigning for a similar scheme here.

Anyway, Game posted this to Twitter, hoping to score a free round:

And for a while, nothing happened.

But then, success.

Someone had seen her plea and answered the call for free drinks.

But the sucess was short-lived. 

Because things started getting a little hectic.

Another drink was brought over, then another one...

Then someone bought her a glass of milk. 

Milk. 

At a pub. 

We guess you could say that things escalated quickly.

Game’s story obviously went nuts, appearing on UK sites like The Daily Mirror and The Poke.

“I think in the end it was about 60 drinks, including milk, water, apple juice, jugs of pitchers, 20 shots and glasses of things I’ve never even seen before,” Game told UK journo Josh Barrie.

“We had to make friends with a group of strangers to help us drink the drinks because there was only two of us out.

“At the end we asked the staff to stop making the drinks and just keep them for themselves because it was getting out of hand.”

Because nothing typifies “getting out of hand” quite like four gravy boats full of peas.

For the record, Game backed up just fine the next day but said on Twitter she’d probably give the free-drink plea a miss next time.

“Never doing that again,” she said.
