Sports reporter almost malfunctions during live cross

Dannielle Maguire

Ever have one of those days where you just kind of lose the power of speech?

Allison Williams has.

The EPSN reporter was covering the championship basketball game between Notre Dame and Duke universities at the weekend when she suffered some kind of malfunction.

Her piece to camera started off fine, but then something unplugged in her brain.

And footage of her momentary inability to string words together is going viral.

Christopher Mallard uploaded video of the cross to YouTube, where it clocked up more than 10,000 views.

It was like she was trying to sing along to a song she didn't know the words to, mumbling through the verse before coming good again at the chorus.

And we have to say, her lapse in speech is pretty confusion vision.

Was this proof that all news reporters are lizard people?

Was she a Stepford Wife whose battery was on the blink?

Fans took to Twitter to find out, and unfortunately the answer is much less exciting.

Ear piece delays are so much less exciting than conspiracy theories.
