Firefighters rescue dog from cage in backyard of burning home

Firefighters have shared video of a rescue of a dog stuck in the backyard of a burning home in California, US.

The house was well alight when crews rocked up, and was in very real danger of spreading to other properties.

Crews worked to battle the flames, noticing a dog trapped in a small fenced-in yard around the back of the house.

A nearby shed was fully ablaze, with the fire dangerously close to the dog’s pen.

The poor pup’s dog house was already on fire and, with no way to escape the flames, the poor thing was terrified.

But, thankfully, the firefighters were there to help.

Bodycams captured the rescue, which was posted to the Stockton Firefighters Local 456 Facebook page on Monday.

By Friday, the vision had clocked up more than 110,000 views.

It’s believed no one was living in the house at the time, but the department said firefighters were able to recover photo albums and important documents belonging to the home owners.
