Illusionist forces woman to eat a shard of glass in shocking stunt
Illusionist Derren Brown has made a women eat glass and this time he’s gone too far.
In a TV special that aired in Britain on Monday night, Brown invited poor audience member Sarah Carson onstage, smashed a light globe, then placed a shard of it in her mouth. (Note to self: never go see a live Derren Brown show.)
A quivering Carson was instructed to bite down on the glass (with a sickeningly audible crunch) then chew a slice of apple to “mop up” all the broken bits.
Needless to say: do not try this at home, oh god.
Brown’s crowd gasped in horror as he lead Carson through the stunt — as did the people watching the special on TV, who tweeted their shock at what they were seeing.
The apparent glass eating wasn’t even the most shocking part of Brown’s show, titled Miracle.
He also appeared to cure one woman’s blindness and another’s rheumatoid arthritis — not genuine miracles, but a satirical take on the methods faith healers use to exploit people.
