Valerie Bertinelli honours ex-husband Eddie Van Halen following his death: 'I will see you in our next life'
Valerie Bertinelli is reminiscing on her life with her late ex-husband Eddie Van Halen.
Bertinelli, 60, who shares 29-year-old son Wolfgang with Van Halen, honoured the musician following his death on Tuesday.
"Forty years ago my life changed forever when I met you," she tweeted alongside a black-and-white family photo.
"You gave me the one true light in my life, our son, Wolfgang. Through all your challenging treatments for lung cancer, you kept your gorgeous spirit and that impish grin.
"I'm so grateful Wolfie and I were able to hold you in your last moments. I will see you in our next life my love."
Bertinelli and Van Halen got married in 1981 before splitting in 2001 and officially divorcing in 2007.

Earlier today, their son broke the sad news that the rock legend died at age 65 after a "long and arduous battle with cancer".
"He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift," Wolfgang tweeted. "My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss."
