Daytime host Wendy Williams suffered a medical emergency during Wednesday's episode of The Wendy Williams Show.

Dressed as the Statue of Liberty for the Halloween-themed episode, Wendy appeared on screen to announce the start of her annual Halloween costume contest. But she cut herself off mid-speech, losing her words before stumbling and collapsing on the floor.

Audience members were heard gasping in shock before producers cut to commercial break.

TMZ reported that the local fire department responded to her studio to treat her. Wendy did return to finish the show, which broadcasts live from New York City, explaining that she became overheated in her costume.

"That was not a stunt," she told the audience. "I overheated in my costume. I did pass out. But you know what, I'm a champ and I'm back."

In a statement on social media, she assured her fans, "I'm doing fine. Just need some water and electrolytes."
