Susan Boyle is the victim of ongoing cruel attacks by a gang of youths near her home in West Lothian, Scotland.
Witnesses say the gang of youths — believed to be comprised of boys aged 16 to 18 — routinely harass The Britain's Got Talent star with insults and hurl physical objects at her as she tries to go about her daily life.
The Mirror reports that in one incident, 56-year-old Susan, who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, was riding a bus when the teens began hurling stones at the vehicle and shouting abuse.
Another time, she was out at a shopping centre when the group began verbally abusing her, calling her an "ugly, old b----".
"We were inside the bus and they were throwing stones, screaming and shouting things," a witness to several of the attacks told The Mirror.
"Another time 10-15 of them were surrounding and throwing stuff. They lit a piece of paper and threw it at her face."
While the gang is thought to be behind a string of attacks on other locals, one witness alleged they are specifically targeting Susan.
"I've called the police 15 times," said one witness. "They pick on the most vulnerable people. If there is more than one person they won't do it – because they are too scared. It's old people, children, mentally ill people. It's really disgusting."
Susan, who wowed Simon Cowell with her rendition of 'I Dreamed A Dream' in 2009, bought and still lives in the West Lothian home in which she was raised. And while she's sold 25-million records worldwide, she is committed to living a humble life.
The private star was diagnosed with Asperger's in 2012, and has faced a string of personal hardships, including the death of her sister Birdie in 2016.
"It's like being on a rollercoaster. I'm always up and down," she has said. "With guidance, I can stay on a level. I have breathing exercises I can do."
