Snoop Dogg mourns death of mother Beverly: 'Thank u god for giving me an angel'

Snoop Dogg has shared a heartbreaking tribute to his mother Beverly Tate following her death.

On Instagram, the iconic rapper posted a picture of Tate holding flowers, writing, "Thank u god for giving me an angel 🕊 for a mother 💖🙏🏽🌹💝 TWMA."

In another post, Snoop Dogg shared a touching photo of him with his mother side by side writing, "Mama thank u for having me".

Floods of support flowed in from fellow celebrities. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson wrote, "I'm so sorry Uso. All our Johnson love and mana sent you and your family's way."

"Sorry uncle snoop. Love and peace to your family," Cardi B commented.

Snoop Dogg's dad, Vernell also took to Instagram to share the news saying, "Snoops mom has passed today can all my fans pray for our family we need it more than ever Thanxs [sic]."

Tate had been hospitalised earlier this year for reasons that remain undisclosed.

In May, Snoop Dogg shared a photo of his mother alongside the caption "🙏🏾🙏🏾💕💕💕😢 I need all my prayer warriors for momma right now please and thank you 🙏🏾🌹💝". He later updated his followers, saying she was "still fighting" and had opened her eyes but he still remained private about the incident.

The rapper has previously spoken about how close he was to Tate and attributes a lot of his good qualities to the way she raised him. 

Tate leaves behind her three sons, whom she raised with husband Vernell Vernado in Long Beach, California. They were a faith-based family and Snoop Dogg attributes his strong sense of morals and religious beliefs to his upbringing.
