Simon Leviev denies being the 'Tinder Swindler'

Simon Leviev, the man who lies at the centre of the famed Netflix documentary The Tinder Swindler, has denied he ever swindled his dates out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

In an exclusive interview with Inside Edition, which is set to be released in two parts next week, Leviev says he is most definitely not the man victims Cecilie Fjellhøy and Pernilla Sjoholm claim he is.

"I am not the 'Tinder Swindler,'" Leviev says in a sneak peek from the Inside Edition interview (watch above). "I was just a single guy that wanted to meet girls on Tinder."

In the interview preview, Leviev is seen with a new model girlfriend.

Leviev, whose real name is Shimon Hayut, allegedly conned his then Tinder dates into thinking he was the son of Israeli diamond tycoon Lev Leviev.

As the Netflix documentary shows, Leviev put up a convincing act for his dates, wooing them with private jets, fancy restaurants and luxurious overseas getaways.

When the women Googled him, it seemed like his story checked out. Leviev held a believable Instagram and Facebook account, with numerous photos that helped to prove his identity and lavish lifestyle.

But an expose in Norwegian publication VG revealed that Simon duped dozens of people out of millions of dollars. There are said to be at least 15 to 20 other victims, as well as Cecilie Fjellhøy and Pernilla Sjoholm.

In an interview for 9Honey, Cecilie and Pernilla revealed they'd been in contact with other victims of Leviev's.

He's doing this to a lot of different [people]. For example, I had a guy in the UK [say] that his company was defrauded by them," Cecilie tells 9Honey.

"We want to get that out as well, it was not just women, they defrauded everyone."

"Male medical students in Germany contacted us over the summer as well. It's not just women, he defrauds everything he can find," Pernilla adds.

While Leviev seems set to deny any connection to the famed con artist, Cecilie and Pernilla are committed to exposing him, after an experience that left them "100 per cent sure they were going to die".

"We're just hoping the police really are going to do their job," Cecilie told 9Honey.

"We, as people, have done our utmost to get him caught and now we feel it's up to them to actually do what's right and not just let it go and think it's going to disappear, because this guy is just going to continue."
